In this Fallout 76 Guide, I explain the Miner Miracles Quest to you. For this quest, you get the blueprints for the Fallout 76 Excavator Power Armor as well as the construction plan for the Power Armor Station. I’ll also give you some hints, e.g. what amount of material you need and how to get the necessary materials without much stress.

About the Excavator Power Armor Quest

Fallout 76 Guide Excavator Power Armor

The excavator power armor is a very good power armor because it has an invisible set bonus, which gives the carrier 100 additional load capacity. Especially in times of limited crate space, this is an incredibly powerful bonus. In the course of this quest, you will get the blueprints for all 6 armor parts, so that you can make them yourself at any time. The smallest version is only from level 25, you can’t put it on before, but there will be higher versions later, e.g. a level 35 version.

The excavator doesn’t have the highest armor of any Powerarmor in terms of physical damage and energy damage, but it still has quite good scores in that area. It is particularly strong in protection from radiation damage and gas effects because the helmet serves as a gas mask and the armor has high armor against radiation damage. The excavator also has a strange effect on the poor one, which should improve the ore mining if you use both arms coordinated. How exactly this is meant, I’m unfortunately not sure at the moment. If you ever find out, please write it down in my comments.

As a big bonus at the end of this quest, you get the construction plan for a Power armor Station. Otherwise, this plan costs 1000 crown corks. With this blueprint, you can build a station for your Power armor in your own CAMP or in a workshop and so build, modify and repair your armor at home.

To avoid additional traveling and running back and forth later in the quest, I recommend collecting the following materials beforehand.

  • 12 glass
  • 26 rubber
  • 60 screws
  • 102 steel
  • 30 gears
  • Thirty-six oil
  • 60 suspensions
  • 6 Nuclear material

We also need 36 black titanium, but we can farm them directly on-site or extract them from a deposit with a CAMP and extractor in the right place, but more about that later. I will also write down the list of required materials and link them in the video description so that you can look them up at any time without having to search for this place in the video.

The Quest Miner Miracles can be obtained in several different places. Because it starts with an advertising poster for the Excavator Power Armor. In the following, I will only talk about “the excavator” for the sake of simplicity. These advertising posters stand around in different places, so you can find one of them for example near the pub Rusty Pick, which is a bit above the fire station of Charleston.

I recommend this starting point because it already gives you a mark where the Garrahan Mining Company is located in the south and does not get lost in the Ash Heap area. Since you can meet enemies from level 20-45 approx here, you should be reasonably well-equipped and preferably travel as a team.

If you stand in front of the pub, it has 2 entrance doors, and next to the left door there is this advertising poster outside. Just activate the poster and you have the quest in your quest book. To complete the quest you have to put on the excavator at the end of the quest and it can only be put on from level 25 on. And this gives a warning even with every login until the quest is completed and even if you are long over level 25. This is not solved that well.

The journey to the Garrahan Mining Company

With the quest marker in your luggage, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find the place. The first step is to “Investigate the headquarters of Garrahan Mining”. The quest marker is located on the building.

You have to travel far south to the edge of Appalachia through areas where you are exposed to toxic gases, so it is recommended that you wear a gas mask or the helmet of the Fire Devil clothes, or similar protective measures. How to do the Fire Devil Quest will be explained soon, but that’s not the point here.

The Garrahan Mining Company

The Garrahan Mining Company

When you arrive at the Mining Company, a group of opponents awaits you on the roof of the multi-story car park in front of the company building. Here burnt, ghouls, robots but also the mole-like miners may appear.

From now on these miners are enormously welcome, because they can drop us mining-suit scrap and when we recycle it we get the important “black titanium”. So any miner you run into is a more than welcome quest helper, so be sure to kill them and take the Mining Suit Scrap with you.

Directly at the building, we have 2 possibilities, we can go through the main entrance, which is covered with mines and inside requires a fight against about 15-20 enemies at once. Or we take the smarter rear entrance through the underground car garage. We go down the ramp in the underground car garage, whereupon we suddenly get a loading screen and then get inside the building.

The underground parking garage

Inside we first arrive in the basement of the garage, if we turn left, we can look for the generator in the corner, sometimes you can find a fusion core there. Then we eliminate the isolated enemies on our way through the security office and left along through the cafeteria, where often an automatic gun hangs half in the ground. Then we find a stairway down, where on the opposite wall there are often 1 to 2 more automatic cannons. Of course, we better take them out before we enter the basement.

Arrival at the laboratory
Arrival at the laboratory

At the bottom of the stairs, we immediately turn left and come to the R&D department. By the way, in the laboratory, you will usually find 2 Powerarmor frames, where one is standing at the desks in the next room and is mostly empty and on the other directly in the laboratory almost always 3 T60 parts are hanging. There are also 2 Powerarmor stations in the laboratory.

Arrival at the laboratory

Once in the research lab, the quest switches to the “Consult the Project Manager Terminal” quest step, which is located right in the middle of the lab. But before you can activate it, you should first secure the area, on the lowest floor there are usually about 10 enemies, where burned, ghouls, robots, super mutants, and even miners are possible.

Then you activate the project manager’s computer and select the option “Blueprints for excavator module” where you learn the 6 blueprints needed to make the excavators and also change the quest. The next step is to craft all 6 parts of the excavator armor.

Black Titanium farming
Black Titanium farming

Black Titanium farming

If we have already collected the basic materials as discussed at the beginning, we now need only the black titanium. I would recommend searching the area for miners, on the one hand, you can be lucky and the whole building of Garrahan Mining can be occupied with miners, outside on the parking lot they sometimes appear and also in the surrounding area they are possible at the smaller camps and machine houses.

Another possibility is to search at the place now marked with the mouse in the picture, there is an ore deposit of black titanium. If you set up your CAMP there and then place an extractor on top of the deposit and supply it with electricity, you will have the required ore there in less than 2 hours. Since you rarely pass through the area without encountering miners, you can probably get the ore together in less than an hour if you combine both methods.

Crafting the Excavator Power Armor
Crafting the Excavator Power Armor

Crafting the Excavator Power Armor

(Important note: you should really take the following step only if you are level 25 or higher.)

Once we have the 36 black titanium together, we can go back to the lab and build our 6 excavator parts there. Be careful, it has happened to me that the quest has dropped back to the step “consult the project manager terminal” after a long absence from the lab. If this happens to you, you should visit the terminal again to be on the safe side and go back to blueprints.

When you have the order to build the 6 armor parts, you need an empty Powerarmor frame. Since there are usually 2 in the lab, that shouldn’t be a problem. In case you have none, just log out and in again and go back to the lab, then you should have more luck. Then put the frame under the Powerarmor Station, get out, and start crafting at the Powerarmor Station. Be careful, if you are clicking the wrong parts, you might have to farm new titanium, screws, etc. again.

Registration and Quest Rewards

Registration and Quest Rewards

When all 6 parts are crafted and mounted on the frame, you can get into the now complete excavators and go a little further to the registration computer. Just activate it and you will be scanned. When the scan process is finished, you will get a message that the quest is finished and you will get all kinds of rewards. One of these rewards is the building plan for the Powerarmor station, which you can now set up in your CAMP and tinker with your power armor and repair and modify it.

Outro:

Then I wish you lots of fun with your increased carrying capacity and the nice excavator armor and especially with your own Powerarmor station. Do you fight all the time, sometimes or almost not at all in Power armor? Please write to me in the comments of the video or in the Community Discord about how this works for you. You can find more videos on the main channel page of my YouTube Channel. And then I wish you a nice day, let it go well, ciao ciao your Zap.
